Preschool Program

Three and four year olds are ready to go deeper. Our Preschool program builds on the foundations of the early years, introducing more structured Montessori-inspired and Creative Curriculum learning while honoring each child's individual pace, curiosity, and growing sense of self.

Every classroom exceeds required staffing ratios, because we believe children thrive when they're truly seen and supported.

Our Approach

How We Approach Preschool.

In our Preschool program, three and four year olds join the Cardinals classroom, where Montessori-inspired learning and Creative Curriculum come together to support each child's next stage of growth. The Cardinals classroom is where children begin to feel genuinely capable, tackling real academic challenges, building lasting friendships, and developing the kind of confidence that comes from doing hard things independently.

Our educators observe each child closely, presenting new work when they are developmentally ready rather than on a fixed calendar. This means every child is always working at the edge of their ability, building real competence and genuine self-belief.

What Parents Say

What Brooklyn Families Say About Our Preschool Program.

Our son spent 3 years at Kinderprep, from 7 mos to 3.5 yrs, and we are so grateful to all of the teachers that loved him. We had no idea what to expect with a daycare, and we got so lucky we ended up here. Kinderprep is staffed with so many wonderful teachers and caregivers that truly love and support the children. I felt so safe and happy to bring my son there everyday, and we built a wonderful community of parents and kids around the place. Highly recommend!

Rochelle Northe

Rochelle Northe

Lead Teacher, Preschool

Hello families! My name is Róchelle Northe, and I'm so excited to be part of your child's learning journey here at Kinder Prep. I've been teaching for about six years now, and it truly is my passion. I've studied Early Childhood Education in college because I love working with young learners and helping them grow, both academically and emotionally. Currently, I'm continuing my education by studying psychology with the goal of becoming a guidance counselor. Supporting children not only in their learning but also in their emotional well-being is something I care deeply about. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending my time doing things that keep me creative and active. Some of my favorite hobbies include painting, going on bike rides, and taking road trips to explore new places. These activities help me recharge and bring fresh energy into the classroom. I'm really looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and can't wait to get to know both you and your child better.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Montessori work cycle?

The work cycle is an uninterrupted period where children choose their own activities from the prepared environment. In our Cardinals Preschool classroom, this allows children to develop deep focus, independence, and intrinsic motivation at their own pace.

Do you teach academics in Preschool?

Yes. Through Montessori materials and Creative Curriculum, children naturally develop pre-reading, pre-writing, and early math skills at their own pace. Letter recognition, phonics, phonemic awareness, counting, and early writing preparation are all woven into the daily program.

What is the Cardinals classroom?

The Cardinals classroom is our Preschool program classroom for children ages 3 to 4 years. Named after the bird, it is one of six classroom communities at Kinder Prep, each named for a different bird to give children a sense of belonging and identity within their age group.

How does Kinder Prep prepare children for Pre-K?

Our Preschool program builds the academic, social, and practical foundations children need for Pre-K. By the time Cardinals children move up to our Blue Jays Pre-K classroom, they have strong phonics foundations, early math concepts, and the independence to take on more structured learning.

What is included in Kinder Prep Preschool tuition?

All private Kinder Prep programs include three nutritious meals daily, 10 specialist-led enrichment classes, all classroom materials, a parent app with daily updates, monthly Parents' Date Nights, and seasonal celebrations. Everything is included with no hidden fees.
