Early Preschool Program

Two and three year olds are discovering who they are — their interests, their voice, their emerging independence. Our Early Preschool program nurtures that discovery through Montessori-inspired learning, creative play, and a warm, structured environment where children feel safe to explore, take risks, and grow.

Every classroom exceeds required staffing ratios, because we believe children thrive when they're truly seen and supported.

Our Approach

How We Approach Early Preschool.

In our Early Preschool program, children move through two classrooms as they grow. Our youngest early preschoolers (2-2.5 years) join the Hummingbirds classroom, while children aged 2.5 to 3 years move up to the Red Robins. Each classroom is designed specifically for that developmental stage, with the same Montessori-inspired philosophy and the same standard of warm, attentive care throughout.

Two and three year olds are in one of the most exciting windows of early development. Curiosity is at its peak, language is exploding, and the drive for independence is real. Our Early Preschool classrooms are built around that energy, with prepared environments where children can choose their work, follow their interests, and build genuine confidence through hands-on discovery.

What Parents Say

What Brooklyn Families Say About Our Early Preschool Program.

Our son spent 3 years at Kinderprep, from 7 mos to 3.5 yrs, and we are so grateful to all of the teachers that loved him. We had no idea what to expect with a daycare, and we got so lucky we ended up here. Kinderprep is staffed with so many wonderful teachers and caregivers that truly love and support the children. I felt so safe and happy to bring my son there everyday, and we built a wonderful community of parents and kids around the place. Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Montessori work cycle?

The work cycle is an uninterrupted period where children choose their own activities from the prepared environment. In our Early Preschool classrooms, this typically runs for 60 to 90 minutes and allows children to develop deep focus, independence, and intrinsic motivation.

What is the difference between the Hummingbirds and Red Robins classrooms?

Both are part of our Early Preschool program for children ages 2 to 3. The Hummingbirds classroom serves children 2 to 2.5 years, while the Red Robins serves children 2.5 to 3 years. Children transition based on developmental readiness. Both follow the same Montessori-inspired curriculum and weekly enrichment schedule.

Does my child need to be potty trained for Early Preschool?

We encourage toilet learning and actively support children through this process. Children do not need to be fully potty trained to join our Early Preschool program. We work closely with families to maintain consistency between home and school.

Do you teach academics in Early Preschool?

Yes. Through Montessori materials and Creative Curriculum, children naturally develop pre-reading, pre-writing, and early math skills at their own pace. Letter recognition, phonemic awareness, counting, and early writing preparation are all woven into the daily program.

What is included in Kinder Prep Early Preschool tuition?

All private Kinder Prep programs include three nutritious meals daily, 10 specialist-led enrichment classes, all classroom materials, a parent app with daily updates, monthly Parents' Date Nights, and seasonal celebrations. Everything is included with no hidden fees.
