Pre-K & 4s Program in Brooklyn

Pre-K is the culminating chapter of early childhood. At Kinder Prep, we make sure it counts. Our Pre-K program prepares four and five year olds for the academic, social, and practical demands of kindergarten, while keeping the joy, curiosity, and love of learning that defines every Kinder Prep classroom.

Every classroom exceeds required staffing ratios, because we believe children thrive when they're truly seen and supported.

Our Approach

How We Approach Pre-K.

In our Pre-K program, four and five year olds join our Pre-K classroom, the most advanced classroom in the Kinder Prep community. By this stage, children are ready for a genuine academic challenge, and our Pre-K classroom meets them there.

Many children at this age experience a natural explosion into reading and writing. Our certified educators provide the Montessori materials, the structured instruction, and the individual attention to make that happen at each child's own pace, while building the social, emotional, and practical skills that kindergarten demands.

Available at Williamsburg (49 Broadway) and Brooklyn Heights Preschool & Pre-K (113 Bridge Park Drive).

What Parents Say

What Brooklyn Families Say About Our Pre-K Program.

Our son spent 3 years at Kinderprep, from 7 mos to 3.5 yrs, and we are so grateful to all of the teachers that loved him. We had no idea what to expect with a daycare, and we got so lucky we ended up here. Kinderprep is staffed with so many wonderful teachers and caregivers that truly love and support the children. I felt so safe and happy to bring my son there everyday, and we built a wonderful community of parents and kids around the place. Highly recommend!

Jerika Figueroa

Lead Teacher, Pre-K

I have been a caregiver and educator for twenty-one years ranging from infant care to fifth grade. I am a mother and grandmother and have always had a passion for teaching and nurturing very young children. I am certified and have a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. It is most rewarding to see the progress as each child emerges as a different child from one's classroom than when they first began. My goal is to help children discover and explore their own potential for learning and gain the confidence to apply what they learn to their own world.

Assistant Teacher, Pre-K

Hi, I'm Teo, and I'm excited to be part of the team as an Assistant Teacher. I've been working in early childhood education since 2021, with over three years of experience supporting young children in daycare settings. In my role, I work closely with lead teachers to maintain a calm, nurturing classroom where children feel safe, supported, and free to explore. I enjoy engaging children in age-appropriate routines, play-based learning, and group activities that encourage growth and curiosity. Building strong relationships with both children and families is important to me, and I'm committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment every day. I'm passionate about helping children develop socially, emotionally, and cognitively, and I look forward to continuing this meaningful work as part of the team.

What is a 4s program?

A 4s program (sometimes called a "fours" class) is a classroom for children who are four years old. At Kinder Prep, our 4s program is our Pre-K program for children ages 4 to 5 years. It focuses on kindergarten readiness through advanced literacy, math, and Montessori-inspired learning.

Is a 4s class the same as Pre-K?

What is the difference between the 3s, 4s, and Pre-K programs?

Our 3s program is our Preschool (Cardinals) classroom for 3 and 4 year olds who are building early academic and social foundations.
